The last time we'll ever stay in a hotel in Fargo

We spent the weekend in Fargo preparing for our move by searching for our dream home. We found a couple different places, none of which are our dream home, but they will work just perfect for temporary housing until we are ready to buy a house. We will make our final decision this week and then it's time to get packing.

Grandpa and Grandma V drove down to Fargo to watch Gus while Ross and I drove around South Fargo for 2 straight days (it felt like a week but at least we got to know Fargo much better). Thank you, grandpa and grandma!

It was Grandpa Steve's b-day on Friday and shortly after this pic, Gus lunged ahead and tried to help himself to a taste of the German Chocolate cake.

Ross and Gus relaxing in the hotel bed on Saturday morning. They are twins.

Since there was so much excitement and fun, we had to try extra hard to get Gus to nap. Look how long this kid is!

He got a new Cars book from Grandma and Grandpa. It has sound effects and he loves it - especially that red button which is the car horn. meep meep!

He was so pumped to go swimming for the first time. How buff does he look in his new trunks?

He was flapping his arms and legs the whole way down to the pool area.

He had to check out the other kids first.

Unfortunately, when I took that first step in, I realized it would be short lived. It was FREEZING. And I'm not just saying that because I'm an overprotective mother. It really was cold. Gus got in thigh-deep but that was it for his first time in a big pool. He kicked a little but had no arguments when it was time to get out and wrap up in a towel.

Gus and Grandpa, good buddies!

Oh, and we officially grilled out for the first time this season at Josh and Christy's house before heading back to Mpls. It was delicious! They just returned at 5am this morning from their trip to Jamaica. Yeah mon. They were tired and should have been sleeping but instead they opened up their house so we could all chat, eat some good food, and hear about their tropical adventures. Thanks, guys! Pretty soon we will be neighbors.

Gus,
You were a very good trooper over the weekend. Thanks for being there on my birthday (candy bars are good) and letting me rock you to sleep a few times. I have our picture in my office.
