Supergus

I attended an auction sale on Saturday which was a first-time experience for me. In addition to scoring a changing table and baby swing, I got this totally awesome superhero costume for Gus.

"Never fear!"

Water World

Gus enjoyed a weekend full of recreation, good food, best buds, and most importantly - swimming!

The Johnson family arrived on Friday afternoon. We grilled, then brought the picnic inside. It was too windy to be outside. Ashton, Carson, and Gus didn't seem to mind eating indoors.

Floor-pong. Is this a new invention because I've never played it before. But I like it. These kids are creative.

And now begins the water activities....

We drove up to Grand Forks to check out the water park at a CanadInn Hotel. Of course, the kids loved it.

Gus liked the kiddie slide because he could do the whole thing on his own.

There goes Carson!

And Ashton.
Gus tried his best to stop the fountain from spraying.

Meanwhile, Ashton embraced the fountains (literally).

The Johnson family (plus Jaime's dad, grandpa Woita) chilled poolside as Paul was in charge of the camera. Not impressed with your job, Paul?

After what seemed like hours, Ross was ready to get out, but not Gus! We finally bribed Gus out of the pool with chocolate Chex mix. It worked.

Gus continued to look for adventures even after the swimming was complete. Sunday morning he requested cart rides.

On Monday, Gus was invited to yet another pool party. This time, it was with his friends Olivia and Violet. We love it when the Demars family comes to town! Here are the kids emerging from the pool, and high-tailing up the stairs to the top of the waterslide. If I had to guess, I would say the girls went down the slide 35-40 times. Gus was a close second with about 20 trips down.

They made time between slide rides to relax in the hot-tub.

Thank you to all our dear friends, and their sweet kids, for a wonderful weekend and start to our week!

Remember Spirit Week?

Back in Jr and Sr High School, we had a Spirit Week every now and again, which (if I remember correctly), was an excuse to wear crazy, abnormal outfits to school. They had a Spirit Week at Gus' school this week.

Monday was Sports Day. It just so happened that was also opening day for the Twins at their new stadium, Target Field. Since we are Twins fans, we loved Sports Day. Gus wore a Twins shirt but it is not pictured here. He also enjoyed watching the game when he got home from school.

Tuesday was pajama day. His favorite part was the slippers that he got from his Aunt Steph, Uncle Mike, and cous Hava.

Wednesday was Hat Day. He wore his Red Sox cap that he received as a gift from his Gma and Gpa Debi & Steve....but I couldn't take a photo and post it this week since the Twins were playing the Sox in their home opener series. I didn't want to jinx them.

Thursday was Western Day. Gus doesn't have boots or a hat so we improvised.

Nothing says Western like a waffle to go. And oops, there I go posting a photo of him in his Red Sox cap, just like I said I wouldn't. Oh well, I like this photo too much to not post it.

Friday is Hawaiian Day but Gus will miss it. He's taking the day off from school on Friday to get ready for another weekend of adventure.

Best weekend ever

We drove down to Minneapolis to visit friends, enjoy the non-windy spring weather (which we miss terribly), and check out the Farm Babies exhibit at the MN Zoo. Gus was ready to hit the zoo, first thing, on Saturday morning. He grabbed Gabby's hand and screamed, "let's go!".

Ross and Gus imitated the monkeys, or fish. I can't remember.

Gabby was not interested in petting the baby goat, even though her Dad was right there with her.

Gabby came in at a whopping 2'9". Huge.

Gus was super pumped to go into the goat pen.

Michelle purchased goat food and gave it to Gus. He could have fed those goats all day.

This baby duck was very soft.

Gus had the right idea.
The kids stared at the dolphins for quite some time.

We got them to look away for a moment for a pic.

Approximately 2 minutes after leaving the zoo, Gabby was out.

And 5 minutes after that....
They both had a snooze, then were ready to go again.

Here we are on our way to the park. Michelle and I cracked up all weekend because they frequently held hands when we were all walking together. Of course we think it is adorable, but I'm sure they just think it is the rule - if you are in the street, hold onto someone's hand.

Even after we were well off the road and sidewalk, they still held hands.

Eventually they spotted the playground equipment and the race was on.

This is adorable.
Gus enjoyed running the bases.

We kept the kids busy golfing, in honor of the Masters tournament on TV over the weekend.

Movies!

And finally, time to crash for the day. Gus only lasted in here for about 2 mins.

On Sunday morning, we met the crew (Tara, Buzz, Holly, Jaime, Paul, Carson, Ashton), for brunch which was delicious. Darn, I didn't take any photos.

Thank you, Mike, Michelle & Gab for hosting a great weekend.

Cliff

We went to the Moorhead library last week to meet Clifford.

Ahh, feel the love.

Then Gus got his game on.

It scared me a little bit when he sat down, placed the headphones on his head, and started clicking away like he's been surfing the net for years. He's never used the computer at home. Huh?
