Since we've been living in ND, we have started a tradition of heading west to Lake Sakakawea for the 4th of July week. We love camping with my parents, and enjoy having Grandpa Dave and Grandma Vickie come down to the lake, too. Because we've been so lucky to have both sets of family so close by, the kids think all 4 grandparents automatically come with every trip to the lake.
It was a beautiful week with the most gorgeous weather I've ever seen for an extended period of time in North Dakota.
Nora packed her own suitcase and was ready to go first thing Monday morning.
Patriotic cookies, check.
Matching t-shirts for the whole family from the $5 bin at Scheels, check.
S'mores pop tarts to save some serious time in the evenings around the campfire, check.
We even drove into Garrison one day and hit up the pool.
Yum, mud pies!
We're already looking forward to next year's 4th of July lake trip.
