Josh and Christy made this t-shirt for Gus way back when he was born. It finally fits so I gave him a mohawk (it's very thin but it is there), and had him make his best Mr. T face for these shots.

Our niece
We are first-time aunt and uncles and we are thrilled. Steph and Mike welcomed precious baby Hava into the world today at 6:21am. I think younger sisters always think their older sisters are amazing but now I know she is. She powered through labor and deliver in record time, no drugs. Amazing.
Hava is perfect from all reports I've received over the phone. I heard her crying a nice teeny baby cry this morning and she even sounded perfect. Here's a mini shot of her, it will have to do until we get a bigger one. I can't wait for more pics to share the good news!
She has so much hair that they had to shampoo and brush it out after her bath today. Hmmm, not sure what hair on a baby might look like? Interesting.
7 lbs 10 oz
19.5 inches
Congratulations, Mom Steph and Dad Mike.

Social calendar = full
Friday afternoon:
Go to Kristie and Skunny's house to see Ava (girlfriend). She was in from Omaha for the weekend. But first, show off by sitting way up high in a tree and not being scared at all.
Gus loves Skunny.
Friday afternoon, continued: Eat cookies with Ava.
Treat time is over, break out the sweet moves. She cannot resist this!
Pretend to be puppies.
Still Friday afternoon: the tables have turned, Ava is chasing Gus and determined to get a hug.
Friday evening:
Back at home and safe.
Jaime, Paul, Carson, and Ashton arrive for a visit. Gus and Carson decide to quality assurance test Ashton's pack and play before bedtime.
Saturday morning:
Photo shoot.
Here's a couple of my favorite shots from our photo shoot with all the children.
Brothers
Ashton is 1 year old.
Ava is almost 2.
Sunday morning:
Play nice and share.
Sunday evening:
Receive a balloon from Uncle Josh and Aunt Christy. This is the best gift. I don't have photos of Gus and the balloon, but it is green and he loves it.

Top six reasons Gus loves it when his grandparents visit
1. He can sit at the table in a regular chair and play with real utensils & condiments.
2. He gets new clothing (he especially likes muscle t-shirts).
3. He is free to run back and forth and to and fro.
Thumbs up, everyone. Let's hear it for g-ma's and g-pa's all over the world.
Time-out, is this the flood?
4. He awakes to Easter baskets
5. He is launched and swung around and all he had to do is ask, once.
6. He can count on Grandpa Dave to take off these ridiculous ears.

There's still snow on the ground
It's April 7th and our yard is still covered in snow. I would show some pics but I misplaced my point and shoot camera at some point over the last 3 weeks. My other cameras aren't so handy to schlep around so until I find my camera, photo postings will be minimal.
The guys were on their own this weekend in Fargo while I enjoyed a reunion weekend in Minneapolis. I will spare you all the details but must admit something before it gets out to the general public: we went to the Britney Spears concert....and I liked it. It was pure entertainment. I think she only sang one song but proved she has remarkable lip syncing skills.
We went to Britney's first show waaaay back in 2001 so we decided all of us must go again. This time we toned it down a bit...and I think at some point in the evening all of us were making phone calls to the husbands to check on the kids and/or dogs. Not exactly the same it was last time!
And during all of this, Ross and Gus enjoyed some man time in still-high-flood-alert Fargo. Sorry, no pics of the manliness because of the lost camera situation. After this weekend I owe Ross a vacation.

Back in town
We came back to Fargo on Sunday but only because we heard a blizzard was brewing and we didn't want to drive in a snow storm. They were right, some major snow hit us and so we had another week of crazy, insane weather.
A co-worker asked me today if we had a nice evacucation this weekend. I said yes, and thought that was a funny made-up word. I might just use it again.
Gus loved ripping around our Chaska house while we were down in Mpls last weekend. The last time he had free reign of this house was when he was 6 months old and all he could do at that point was roll over and drool on the carpet.
He likes the view from this bedroom much better than the view from his current room.
He freaked out when he saw the mirror in our room. Apparently he does not recall the hours we spent playing in front of this same mirror when he was a teeny baby.
When he finally backed away from the mirror, he had a nice red mark on his forehead and the mirror was slathered in drool. Nothing a little Windex can't cure.
